INSAN Iraqi Society is a non-governmental organization working in Iraq in the field of development, humanitarian aid and social action.

INSAN Iraqi Society is operating in Iraq on a nationwide scale level through its headquarters based in Baghdad, and 2 branches located in Kirkuk (North of Iraq) and Kut (South of Iraq).

An office in Amman, Jordan, enables the representation of INSAN to the international community.

INSAN Iraqi Society is supported and funded by diverse international organizations.


NEWS UPDATE

 

* The deadline to submit application forms to take part to the training program "Working in a conflict environment" is crossed. INSAN will review the applications received and will announce the selected participants in the course of February 2008.

* INSAN is launching a new program to provide employment opportunities to vulnerable individuals in Kut, Wassit Governorate. A fruit and vegetable cooperative will provide economic opportunities to 26 IDPs and inhabitants settled in Kut. 

I* INSAN is launching a new program to provide income generation opportunities to 50 vulnerable individuals in villages in Baghdad Governorate. As the security context is settling down and inhabitants returning to the villages, economic opportunities need to be provided. Selected beneficiaries will benefit from an accounting and administration training to support them in conducting their activities.

* In November 2007, INSAN was invited to attend a training program dedicated to Human and Women's Rights in Sweden. The program is funded by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) and implemented by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute.

During one month, INSAN took part to diverse seminars in Lund University and conducted field visits in Stockholm in the frame of the training program. A change project will be conducted by INSAN on the topic of Women's Rights as part of the program. A second part of the training program will take place in June 2008 in Morocco.
